Holiday Stroll preparations begin; sign-up today to participate!

Franklin Holiday Stroll to be Thursday, Dec. 7

Santa and his elves, Mrs. Claus, the tree lighting, carolers, holiday crafts, entertainers, gifts for sale, and more!

The Franklin Downtown Partnership will kick off the holiday season with the ninth annual Holiday Stroll on Thursday, December 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. downtown.

The festivities will begin with a tree lighting ceremony on the Dean College campus common, complete with carolers, hot chocolate and a visit from Boomer.

From there Franklin's favorite holiday party will continue throughout downtown Franklin, where festival goers can stroll along a closed Main Street and up and down East and West Central streets to enjoy entertainers, gift shopping, crafts and gingerbread cookies, and festively decorated store fronts.

Santa and his elves will greet kids at Simon's Furniture, and Mrs. Claus will be reading holiday stories at the Franklin Historical Museum.

Businesses and groups who would like to participate can contact Holiday Stroll Co-chair Pandora Carlucci at pandora.carlucci@gmail.com.

More information about the Holiday Stroll will be posted here on the FDP website and on the Partnership's Facebook and Twitter pages.

2017 event sponsorships available

As we begin our planning for 2017 we want to thank our wonderful past sponsors. We are fortunate to have the Franklin community's support year after year, and without it we would not be able to continue our many events like the Strawberry Stroll, Harvest Festival and Holiday Stroll. And, of course, Beautification!

This year we are having the Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 14th, with a rain date of the 15th.  This will be the largest event in Franklin and we are hoping to attract more than 8,000 visitors.  We hope you will consider sponsoring this popular festival or one of our other signature events.

If you want to sponsor our events, please let us know so we can plan accordingly. Here are our Sponsorship Opportunities sheet and the Sponsorship Registration Form.
Please contact the FDP office at downtown.franklin@yahoo.com if you have questions.  We would be happy to meet with you to talk about sponsorship opportunities.
Thank you again for your continued support!

Thank You Beautification Sponsors

We'd like to take a moment to thank our wonderful Beautification sponsors for making these colorful flower displays downtown possible this year!
These awesome signs on the bridge downtown were created by Signs by Cam.

On May 21 volunteers helped the Franklin Downtown Partnership and the Franklin Garden Club plant flowers and greenery downtown and on the Town Common. Now, in these hot and dry dog days of Summer 2016, the plantings still look great!

Once the road project is complete downtown, we can look forward to even more colorful blooms.

Gold Sponsor D.G. Ranieri Real Estate, Silver Sponsor Middlesex Savings Bank, and Bronze Sponsors Auerr, Zajac & Associates, LLP, and Tom Fricker Heating & A/C allow the FDP and Garden Club to plan for, purchase and maintain these displays along with the winter decorations. Thank you!

Dean Bank to have Coloring Contest, Gingerbread Men, Music at Holiday Stroll

A press release from Dean Bank, a gold sponsor of the Holiday Stroll:

FRANKLIN, MA  - Dean Bank is getting into the Holiday Spirit this season by adding some elements to this year’s Holiday Stroll.  In addition to their popular Gingerbread Man giveaway, those in attendance inside the Dean Bank branch on Thursday evening will be treated to the musical talents of members of the Franklin High School Music Department.  Additionally, Dean Bank will be hosting a kids’ Holiday coloring contest.

Young artists decorate gingerbread
men cookies at Dean Bank
at last year's Holiday Stroll.

There are two age groups for participants; 3-5 years old and 6-9 years old, with a Grand Prize of a $25 gift card to Learning Express Toys awarded in each category.

Parents interested in having their child participate can pick up a coloring sheet at “Sponsors Row” during the Holiday Stroll or directly inside Dean Bank’s 21 Main Street branch. Refreshments will be served inside the branch as well.  There’s no cost or purchase required to enter and it is open to all regardless if they are Dean Bank customers or not.

Outside on Main Street during the Stroll, the bank will have 400 gingerbread men to give away, along with pre-made decorating packets.

The coloring contest will run until Saturday December 12th and parents must turn in their child’s entry to the branch by then to enter.  Winners will be chosen on Monday December 14th and will be contacted at that time.
